The BERRI Resource Library brings together more than 120 clinical psychologist-approved information and strategy sheets, giving carers and professionals trusted guidance whenever they need it. Available as an optional addition to a BERRI subscription, it bridges the gap between searching endlessly for resources online and accessing one-to-one clinical support - putting trusted, clinically informed guidance at your fingertips.
The library covers the key needs of children in care and turns the BERRI team’s specialist knowledge into clear, practical guidance that can be used immediately. Each sheet helps users understand what a child may be experiencing or communicating, consider why a concern may be arising, and identify child-centred support strategies. The resources can also be incorporated into your day-to-day practice, including inductions, keyworking sessions, care planning, and team meetings.
You deserve to know who’s behind the guidance you rely on. That’s why every resource is written by the BERRI clinical team and vetted by experienced clinical psychologists, not produced by AI. Our team has done the research and specialist thinking, so your team can access reliable, evidence-based information. This expert knowledge is presented in an accessible format, helping staff and carers build their skills, reflect on children’s needs, and respond with greater confidence and consistency.
Resources are mapped to BERRI’s five core areas: Behaviour, Emotional Wellbeing, Relationships, Risks (to self and others), and Indicators (of underlying psychiatric and neurodevelopmental conditions). The library also includes guidance relating to significant life events.

The Resource Library is designed for the people supporting children and young people day to day, including residential care staff, foster carers, social workers, keyworkers, Supported Accommodation staff, Personal Advisors for young people leaving care, adoptive parents, special guardians, school staff, therapists, and other professionals. Independent providers can give staff and carers practical backup at the point it is needed. Local authorities can share a consistent standard of guidance across providers and agencies, helping care plans translate more reliably into everyday support.
Assess: Complete the BERRI questionnaire to better understand a child’s needs across the five core areas and generate an evidence-based report.
Understand: Tap into the relevant resource sheets for each need identified through the BERRI assessment to explore that specific area in greater depth — with expert clinical advice, practical strategies, and approaches to care.
Implement: Put that understanding into practice using trauma-informed, therapeutic and child-centred strategies, including approaches informed by PACE where appropriate.
Used alongside BERRI, the library helps organisations strengthen care planning, staffconfidence and consistency. It can support clearer evidence of strategies for Ofsted, reduce pressures that contribute to staff or carer turnover, help prevent placement breakdowns, and improve outcomes for children.
"The resource library adds real value because it supports both the child and the adults caring for them. It gives us quick access to child-centred, accessible and clinically informed information we can trust, and is becoming a go-to in the first instance when we're struggling with something."
Taiya, Head of Clinical Care, WhiteTrees
